Jil Sander for Men

Jil Sander is a well-known brand with roots in Germany that has gained global recognition. The founder, Jill, was born in Germany in 1943 and graduated from a textile engineering school in Krefeld in 1963. She went on to work for fashion magazines like McCall in the USA and Petre in Germany, fueling her passion for fashion. In the late 60s, she opened her first boutique in Hamburg, where she sold collections from European designers and her own designs. In 1968, the fashion house Jil Sander was officially established. The first collection, featuring clothing made from luxurious fabrics, was released in 1973. Although the minimalist pieces with refined silhouettes and pastel tones did not initially receive much enthusiasm, Jill's intention was to offer women luxurious yet simple and comfortable clothing as a means of self-expression, reflecting her feminist beliefs.

It wasn't until 1997 that the first men's collection was launched. Shortly after, Jill was compelled to sell 75% of the company's shares to the PRADA group, leading to her resignation due to irreconcilable disagreements. Milan Vukmirovic, known for his work at Colette and Gucci Group, took over as the creative director. However, his efforts to promote Jil Sander fell short. Consequently, in 2003, PRADA paid a substantial sum for Jill to return to the company, resulting in a renewed focus on simplicity, craftsmanship, and elegance. Later, Raf Simons succeeded Jill as the creative director, carrying on the traditions of minimalism.

In 2008, a Japanese fashion conglomerate acquired the company, with model Natasha Poly becoming the face of the brand. In 2012, Jill, the brand's creator, once again took over from Raf Simons. She released a collection in the spring of 2013 but ultimately left the company for good in the fall.

Today, Jil Sander's men's clothing embodies comfort, simplicity, minimalism, and aesthetics. It blends classic and relaxed street style, featuring striped t-shirts and hoodies with subtle branded patches in neutral tones, stylish lightweight hooded coats, basic solid-color t-shirts, cozy wool long-sleeves, fashionable trousers and shorts, vibrant sweaters, classic shirts, and tailored pieces for formal occasions.

You can purchase Jil Sander branded men's clothing and footwear in Europe through the official website of the Symbol online store at a favorable price with fast delivery available across the country.
