Balenciaga

Balenciaga is a Fashion House founded by Cristobal Balenciaga, a Spanish designer, in 1914 in San Sebastian. In 1918, the first fashion boutique was opened, followed by boutiques in Madrid and Barcelona. Members of the Spanish Royal family were patrons of Balenciaga. However, due to the Spanish Civil War, Cristobal had to close his stores and relocate to Paris, where he established his Fashion House in 1937.

The initial collection created by the couturier was unconventional, feminine, and avant-garde, capturing the attention of the public. Even during World War II, Balenciaga's designs garnered admiration from fans of the brand. Balenciaga stood out significantly in comparison to the traditional European fashion of the time. The "square coat," loose silhouettes, tunic dresses, and departure from the classic hourglass figure became iconic. Fabrics in shades of pink adorned with black lace were notable. Balenciaga became the benchmark for young designers, with notable figures such as Oscar de la Renta, Emanuel Ungaro, Andre Courreges, and Hubert Givenchy having worked at the Fashion House. In the 1960s and 1970s, Balenciaga reached cult status and was worn by numerous celebrities, including Jackie Kennedy. However, in 1987, Cristobal announced the closure of the Fashion House, and he passed away in 1972.

The Balenciaga brand remained dormant until 1986 when it was acquired by Jacques Bogart. Michel Goma was appointed as the creative designer, overseeing the Ready-to-Wear line until 1992. Joseph Timistre then took over as the leader, aiming to restore Balenciaga's status as a High Fashion House. Nicolas Ghesquière joined later and has been the creative director since 1997. Currently, Balenciaga is owned by the Kering group, with Demna Gvasalia serving as the creative director. Today, Balenciaga continues to be one of the most relevant and sought-after brands.

For men, the Balenciaga range includes t-shirts, shirts, sweaters, hoodies, trousers, cargo pants, chinos, jumpers, jackets, leather jackets, jeans, backpacks, bags, cardholders, and more. Balenciaga sneakers are particularly popular and have become an essential element of contemporary fashion worldwide for several seasons. Original Balenciaga men's items can be purchased in Europe through the official website of the Symbol online store at attractive prices with prompt delivery to all cities in the country.
