There are many versions of the origin of jackets, one of them says that the first jackets appeared in the Mesolithic era. Then the northern peoples wore short fur clothes, which are very reminiscent of a modern jacket. Much later, already in the Middle Ages, jackets appear in England and France, as clothing for archers, then they are made of leather.

And in the Renaissance, already in Spain, the jacket becomes part of the men's national costume. So, throughout Europe, until the 19th century, the jacket was considered part of the military uniform and was worn by musketeers, dragoons and hussars. And only thanks to the Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi, the jacket gained popularity among representatives of the wealthy classes. It was he who introduced the fashion for short outerwear made of scarlet cashmere, it was 1860. Around the same time, but already athletes, discover the jacket as warm and comfortable clothing for winter sports. And after about 100 years, American pilots transfer the jacket from army life to everyday life. Then, in the post-war period, when the financial capabilities of the population fell sharply, it was an inexpensive and comfortable jacket that became part of the wardrobe of American citizens. Models such as the pilot jacket, bomber jacket and parka come into fashion and quickly become popular. By the way, the “parka” was borrowed from the peoples of the north, it was there many centuries ago that they came up with this model, which could withstand temperatures down to minus 70 degrees and perfectly protected from severe frosts.
