Lanvin

Lanvin, one of the oldest fashion houses in the world, was founded by Jeanne Lanvin, a French designer, in the 19th century. Initially, she created costumes for her own children and later expanded her business by sewing clothes for other children. This eventually led to the creation of a complete collection of children's clothing in 1908. In the following year, Madame Lanvin began designing clothes for mothers as well, which attracted orders from influential women of the time. Her talent and success led to her acceptance into the Syndicate of Haute Couture, where she obtained the official title of Couturier and registered her fashion house. The logo of the brand, featuring a silhouette of a lady leading a girl by the hand, was designed by Paul Irib. The brand later expanded to include a sportswear line, opened a factory, and started producing perfumes. Jeanne Lanvin became one of the most influential designers of her era, known for her skillful bead embroidery and decorative expertise. After her passing, the fashion house was inherited by her daughter Marie-Blanche de Polignac, and later by her nephew Yves Lanvin. Eventually, in 1996, the L'Oreal Group acquired the brand.

The revitalization of the Lanvin brand began in 2001 with the appointment of Alber Elbaz as the creative director. Elbaz, previously associated with Yves Saint Laurent, brought a fresh perspective to the brand, infusing sharpness and sensuality into the designs. The new creative direction led to experiments with various fabrics such as silk, wool, organza, gabardine, brocade, and leather. These materials were adorned with lace, rhinestones, and highlighted with inverted seams and visible zippers. Elbaz's creative vision was acknowledged with the Council of Fashion Designers of America award.

Today, Lanvin is renowned for its elegant flowing dresses adorned with unique decorations, as well as its balloon dresses and exclusive coats. The brand presents a new interpretation of French classicism, combining feminine forms with daring texture combinations and distinctive embellishments. In addition to dresses, the collection offers a diverse range of trousers, jeans, t-shirts, jackets, linen skirts, silk blouses, and trendy sweatshirts.
