The Attico is a youthful label established in New York in 2016 by two influential figures in the fashion industry. Georgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio had already gained fame prior to the establishment of their clothing brand and their introduction to each other. The images of the girls were frequently featured in street style chronicles, and their social media accounts boasted hundreds of thousands of followers. Georgia and Gilda were acquainted through mutual acquaintances and immediately connected. During New York Fashion Week, the newfound friends would travel from show to show in a taxi, discussing their impressions. The girls came to a mutual agreement that the presented ensembles did not particularly inspire them and that they would create something different, something better. This led to the decision to create The Attico.

The moniker of the brand, "The Attico," translates to "penthouse" in Italian. It encompasses a luxurious essence with bohemian touches, incorporating feathers, sequins, flowing velvet, retro aesthetics, vibrant patterns, and neon hues. However, it is executed in an elegant and feminine manner, maintaining tastefulness and avoiding vulgarity. The debut collection of The Attico was launched in 2016, and even before the start of sales, orders from retailers began pouring in, thanks to the media presence of both founders. A year later, the brand was recognized with the News Achievements Awards as the debut of the year.

Both Georgia and Gilda had a familiarity with the fashion realm since their childhood, and the passion for creating clothing had been ingrained in them for a considerable time. Tordini was born in an Italian province, and her father frequently brought back fashionable garments from Paris and Milan. The girl enthusiastically developed her unique style, disregarding the mockery from her peers. Ambrosio was born in Naples, and her family owned a small boutique. The girl tirelessly fashioned outfits for herself and the mannequins in the store window. After completing school, Gilda pursued design studies at the Marangoni Institute in Milan.
