Bally

Bally is a prestigious Swiss brand that was established in 1851. During the mid-19th century, Karl Franz Bally visited Paris and was captivated by the luxurious shoes he saw there. This sparked his interest in shoemaking, and he dedicated himself to studying the art form. In 1854, he founded a factory in Schönenwerd, and shortly after, flagship stores were opened in Zurich, Bern, and Basel. Within a decade, the workforce grew to include 500 employees. Franz's son, Edward, shared his father's passion for shoemaking and traveled to the United Kingdom to further his studies. During his time there, he brought back groundbreaking shoe-making machines, which led to the establishment of the country's first automated shoe factory. Bally stores started to appear across the globe, with locations in Barcelona, Brussels, Vienna, Lisbon, Istanbul, Marseille, London, and other major cities.

By 1890, the company's annual shoe production reached an impressive 2,000,000 pairs. At this point, Franz's sons had taken over the full management of the factory. Unfortunately, the production was significantly affected during World War II due to a lack of natural materials. However, by 1950, the brand was revived by Franz's grandchildren. They reintroduced handmade production techniques and opened new factories. In 1976, the brand expanded its offerings to include accessories.

In 2008, JAB Holding Corporation acquired Bally. Frederick de Narp has served as the director since 2013. In 2017, the company was put up for sale.

Today, Bally's women's line encompasses a range of timeless leather loafers with prominent buckles, sophisticated ankle boots and knee-high boots, stylish lace-up boots with chunky soles, elegant shoes, effortless slingbacks, and comfortable sandals. When it comes to accessories, Bally offers miniature belt bags, totes, satchels, backpacks, and wallets.
