Thierry Mugler for women

Thierry Mugler is a renowned French luxury brand with a distinctive feminine aesthetic, established in 1974 in Paris. Thierry Mugler was born in Strasbourg, southeastern France, into a modest family. Since childhood, the young boy had a passion for ballet and painting. At the age of 24, he relocated to Paris and secured a job at the Gudule boutique, where he immersed himself in the world of fashion. Thierry began creating his own dress designs, which were eagerly sought after by fashion houses not only in France but also in Italy, Spain, and England.

In 1973, Mugler introduced his inaugural women's clothing collection, "Cafe de Paris," drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood. It paid homage to the female form, with sleek anatomical shapes, revealing breasts, and a daring, uninhibited sexuality that stood out amidst the prevailing minimalistic trends. The designer's talent caught the attention of Melka Treanton, the editor-in-chief of French Elle, who assisted in promoting the brand. In 1974, Thierry formally registered his brand. A few years later, the Thierry Mugler collection astounded Japanese aesthetes when it was showcased in Tokyo, leading to a collaboration with the prestigious Shiseido.

During the 80s and 90s, the brand experienced rapid growth, opening boutiques and evolving into a fashion house while creating groundbreaking fragrances. However, in 2001, a crisis struck when Thierry stepped down as creative director. Jean-Luc Testu took his place, succeeded by Rosemary Rodriguez after 2 years. It wasn't until the arrival of Nicola Formichetti in 2010 that the brand began to regain its former adoration from fans, restoring its luxury status and demand among buyers. David Koma, the subsequent creative designer, brought the brand back to its roots, staying true to Thierry Mugler's original vision. Today, Casey Cadwallader leads the Fashion House, as the story takes yet another twist, with feminine and elegant ensembles reminiscent of vintage glamour, featuring soft draping and deliberate sensuality that contrasts the free street style.
