Altuzarra is a young French fashion brand founded by designer Joseph Altuzarra. Joseph was born in Paris in 1983. His father was French and his mother was Chinese American. From a young age, Joseph had an interest in various forms of art, including ballet and painting. He earned a bachelor's degree in art history from Swarthmore College and interned in New York. He gained valuable experience as an intern at Mark Jacobs and later at Proenza Schouler, working under renowned pattern and decoration master Nicolas Caito at Rochas' studio. In 2006, after gaining enough experience, the talented designer returned to Paris and became a deputy to Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy.
In 2008, Joseph returned to New York to establish his own business and thus, the Altuzarra brand was born.
